Key Cities Witness Increase In Retailer Enquiries

According to the findings of CBRE's latest report titled "Indian Retail Market view" for H2, 2011 India witnessed an addition of more than 15 million sq. ft. of organised retail mall space in the country in 2011. During the July-December 2011 period, more than 9 million sq. ft. entered the country across various primary and secondary locations. This was led by Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Chennai, comprising more than 90% of the entire organised mall supply during the review period. In all the seven cities presented in this review, the retail real estate market appeared to be promising, with an increase in retailer enquiries.
