According to the study by researchers, in developing countries, more than 40 per cent of the food losses occur at post-harvest and processing levels, while in industrialised countries, more than 40 percent of the food losses occur at retail and consumer levels. In India the post-harvest losses have been the major cause behind its poor show of export of perishables (especially fruits and vegetables). Cargotalk spoke to the stakeholders about how to increase the export.
